A Portable Professional is
someone who doesn't work in the traditional office. They work from home,
on the road, a cabin in the woods, the park, the beach... wherever (and
whenever) they want! They can do this because they use the available technology
to make themselves portable.

We hope so! That's the point
of this web site. We're dedicated to present the tools and strategies
you need to become a Portable Professional. We provide updates on emerging
technology, telecommuting and productivity tips, products and services,
interviews with people living the Portable Professional life right now,
and even a place where you can ask questions!

What's
this Portable Professional eBook all about?
The Portable Professional eBook
is what inspired the web site actually! The author, Mark McMahon, gave
up his dental practice to follow his dream of traveling. At first he struggled
to stay in touch with friends and family and run his web site from the
road. But he learned what he needed to know to make it all work. He saw
how easy it was once he had the knowledge, and he saw so many people stuck
in an office and hating it... he wanted to share what he learned with
everyone so they could escape the office, too, and live more fulfilling
lives.
So the eBook is about the jobs
that can be made portable, equipment and software you need, organization,
communication, security, handling finances, and having fun! Read
